For Netgear Extender Setup :
- For Netgear extender setup plug your extender into the power. If you are not getting a power light, Press Power or ON/OFF button.
- Connect your computer or mobile phone to the extender’s wifi network. The default Network for Netgear Extender setup is NETGEAR_EXT.
- Open a web browser and enter mywifiext.net. A New Extender Setup window will come up.
- Click on New Extender Setup. If it asks to agree on terms and conditions, click on YES or I AGREE.
- Create your Netgear Extender Login Account for future login to access extender wifi settings.
Creating An Account For Netgear Extender Setup:
- Enter Username (You can use admin or you can use your Email as well).
- Create your Login Password and Confirm Password. It should be different from WiFi Password.
- Select security questions and answer them. These questions will help you to recover your username and password, in case you forget.
- Finally, click on Next.
- As you have created an account and clicked on NEXT. Now, it will ask you (How would you like to use your extender WIRELESS RANGE EXTENDER or ACCESS POINT).
- It will scan the nearby networks. You need to select your 2.4GHz and 5GHz wifi network. Then, click on NEXT (If you don’t see your network, make sure you will plug it close to the router).
- Enter your existing network’s Password which is the same as your router’s WiFi Password and click on NEXT.
- Select SSIDs or Network Name and Password for your extender. By default, both bands use the same Network Name which will end with _2GEXT and _5GEXT respectively.
- (Optional) Some higher models also support the OneMesh Network Name feature. To enable it, you will a checkbox to Enable One WiFi Name. It will make the WiFi name the same as your router.
- Click on NEXT. It will take about 1 min. to apply settings. Then you can connect your device to the extended network.
Setup An An Access Point:
- Connect Ethernet cable between your router and extender.
- Open the browser and type mywifiext.net in the browser.
- Create Network Name and Password according to your choice for your access point.
- Click on NEXT and it will take few seconds to apply the settings.
